Alexander Neffenger performs the routine that persuaded judges to name him the next drum major for the Ohio State University Marching Band. The former drum major for Northland High in Columbus bested three other candidates yesterday during tryouts. Neffenger, a junior majoring in theater, was the band's assistant drum major the past two seasons.
